LRU is the abbrevation of "Least recently used" and is a procedure for caching algorithms for limitation of memory.

In onion.net are lru slots used. These slots are either used to limit the size of the memory or the number of items. If one of the set limits is reached, elements, which are recently used at least, will be remove from the cache.
