ChangeSetState

Indicates the state of an Enterprise ChangeSet.

Authorised quality management can, depending on the degree of completion, configure the state of the ChangeSet and thus limit the permissions in the ChangeSet for data objects.

The ideal workflow is as follows. The state of the ChangeSet is set to Editable when work is commenced. In this state, all quality management can work on the data objects.

Towards the end, an authorised user sets the status to LockApproved. The quality management finishes work on the documents and set the status of the change to Complete. Quality assurance checks the changes made to the documents and sets the status either to Accepted or Rejected. If the change has been accepted, then the change can no longer be edited. In the event of errors, quality assurance would have to change the status over to Rejected so that the quality management can rectify any errors as appropriate.

If the work in the ChangeSet is to now be completed, then the state is set to Sealed. Now only data objects may be edited which are currently still in progress. New or accepted data objects may no longer be edited.

The default value is Editable.

Values

Editable

This is the default value for a new ChangeSet. In this state, the quality management members can edit data objects according to their group permissions.

LockApproved

This state is configured if documents already accepted are no longer to be edited.

Sealed

In this state, only data objects may be edited which are already in progress. Documents are in progress which are checked out and where the change has the ApprovalStatus None or Rejected.
