In order to avoid the repeated assignment of permissions for different groups, it is possible to create a permission structure in onion.net by means of groups.

If basic permissions for data objects or ChangeSets are assigned which are to apply for several or all groups, these permissions can be defined in a group. The groups to also receive these permissions now include the group in which the permissions were defined. Thus the groups inherit these permissions.

It is still possible however for the individual groups to define further permissions. These groups can even extend the included permissions.
